this first appeared in a national daily before i decided to also published it here....i might remove it soon as this blog is not about politics but all men are political animals.
Dear Editor,
I'm Crazy Because Am A Nigerian.
The recent clampdown on a media house for a supposedly embarassment of our federal government leaves much to be desired. It is as if there is an element to truth to the story and if it where not,why dont we have just have the usual refutal and normal passing of the bucks to to opposition elements hell-bent on distracting Alhaji YarA'dua? Am sure Vincent Ogbulafor and his PDP gangsters will have much of mud throwing to do.
If our so called leaders can see so much contempt that the largely impoverished populace have for them, then they will learn to bury their head in shame. One cant' believe the amount of acute hatred people like me bear for daring to believe in the future greatness of this country. All around, I see unemployment, pains, sorrow and there appears to be no end to such misery thanks to our so called 'leaders' managing our economy. Nothing seems to work for those outside government, all we see is politicians especially this PDP ruling class getting richer and smiling abroad with our collective wealth. Maybe they are waithing for all youths to take up arms against them before they know what to do?
The anti-corruption crusade is a sham and rule of law is nothing but an attempt to hoodwink us,all the rich public treasury looters are flaunting their wealth in the face of the judiciary while our all knowing learned one's fight tooth and nail to exonerate them from prosecution.Election tribunal is another way of extending the tenure of people who where selected by Maurice Iwu and co under the guise of election.Godfathers and their cronies seat in thier bedroom and play god with our destiny, ganbling it away to the highest bidder.
Let it be known that even if another group topples or replace the present one,the masses will just regard it as another bunch of fruadsters sweeping aside one another.Possibly to have their own bite at the national cake afterall, the whole thing is just a continous cycle of same bunch of chop-i-chop politicians.Too many sectors of the economy is comatose and near collapse, governance has been elevated to occultism and the masses are just onlookers, victims and pathetically, pawns!
Anytime i tell people around me what future lies ahead of us if only we can devote ourselves to justice, truth, fairplay and hardwork. All I get is insult and public oppoborium. My people are frustrated and they just want a roof over there head, water to drink, food to eat and clothes to wear...believe me they will give anything to have these basic needs of life.
see what we have been reduce to by our self- inflicted leaders, may God help our founding fathers in thier graves! the greatest height of misgovernance is to deny the people the right to life just as our leaders are presently doing to us now.
I believe someday, things will get better and this cloud of shame that covers us will give way to sunshine of glory. Not in the distant future but in this generation.A new set of leaders are already here, people with the fear of God who will neither show fear or favour in discharging their divinely inspired mandate.I know that am crazy for daring to hope against 'hope' itself but i'll rather be a crazy nigerian than join in the despondency for that is the biggest danger,to see a challenge and do nothing about it!
In conclusion,I wish to admonish evil doers and doubters to desist from their inglorious path or be consumed by this brand new moving 'train' of optimistic divine revolution that has started.A journey no devilish so called big shot can stop. The time of fear and timidity is gone, a new dawn has come, the chicken are home to roost and we owe this duty to the generation unborn--that is, if they are not stillborn yet!
